Manny has over 15 years of experience in the addiction field. He brings to Paragon a wealth of knowledge and experience administering substance abuse programs in the south Florida area with a proven track record of maintaining high-quality clinical care and high rates of success among those that graduate from his programs. Manny received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1991 from the University of Miami and his Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2003 from Nova Southeastern University. Manny is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is certified by the National Board of Counselors. He specializes in treating addiction, anxiety disorders, co-dependency and marriage and family conflict. He is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and has developed trauma programs utilizing EMDR, hypnotherapy and experiential workshops. His training in psychodynamic theory serves as the foundation for his existential approach to recovery. He views the process of psychotherapy as an ever-evolving lens to understanding the perceptions we have of ourselves and the relationships we have with our external world.
Manny is most passionate when he can serve his community. He has been active in raising awareness and funds to treat addiction and severe mental illness among indigent populations, volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem for abused and neglected children, and served on many community planning boards to help make his community a better place to live. Having worked in hospitals, substance abuse treatment settings and private practice, his most satisfying role to date is leading Paragon in its vision to become a regional leader in the substance abuse treatment field by providing innovative treatments by highly trained professionals, incorporating an integrative approach to addiction medicine, and promoting individual and organizational involvement in the community that supports the long-term recovery of its clients.
